One of the biggest challenges to achieving your goals might be that you can’t achieve them alone…but you’re trying to. Building a team that is on board with your goals and bigger vision can be a huge help in turning them into a reality. But there is a lot to learn when it comes to getting the right people on your team. I talked with organizational development expert Dr. Melissa Furman about the essential things to know when it comes to recruiting and retaining the best employees.

3:24 - More recently I’ve been hearing a lot about diversity, equity and inclusion. How do we recruit and retain diverse people?

14:11 - Most job postings are aligned with the job description. Most job descriptions are written and aligned with a performance evaluation. Performance evaluations are a waste of time. 

26:00 - You have to have a really strong onboarding process and ongoing training.

34:14 - They need to learn about what we call inclusive leadership. They need to learn about people who are different from them.
